I love what I do! I spend my days being a part of an amazing journey. Some days are filled with tears but there are many others with laughter and learning and growth. The human spirit is amazing and resilient and I consider it a privilege to be invited into the life of each of my client’s. I know it can be intimidating to walk into the office of a stranger with the intent to share the most personal details of your life. I respect that, and I know that it is my job to earn your trust.
So, a little about me - I grew up in a small town of Northern California and lived there until I left for college. I earned my Bachelor Degree in Psychology and my Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy. Early in my career I worked specifically in the field of addiction, and I believe those early experiences helped build a foundation I carry into therapy today. Quite often when we form addictive behaviors, it isn’t about the drug, food, or sex, but more about our need to alter how we are feeling in the moment. Therapy is a powerful tool to help the individual address their pain rather than resorting to numbing or escaping it. My training as a therapist expanded my vision for healing relationships. My love for working with couples stems from a belief that most relationships can be healed and strengthened through simple shifts in how we interact. We all long to feel deeply understood and cared for, and most couples that enter my office will admit they love each other, but no longer feel “in love.” The relationship has failed to thrive. Some of my most rewarding experiences have been in guiding couples toward achieving emotionally connected and fulfilling relationships. My husband and I have been married for almost 25 years and we have 3 sons and 1 daughter. They have been some of my greatest teachers and continue to show me what is most important in life. We have enjoyed living in St. George, Utah for over a decade now and I believe I am a lizard at heart – I love the sunshine! Give me a call or shoot me an email. I would love to answer your questions or offer a brief phone consultation for free. If I am not the right fit for you, I will do my best to refer you to someone that is. |
